Opoczno

Opoczno is a town in central Poland, located in the Łódź Voivodeship. It is the seat of Opoczno County and the urban-rural gmina of Opoczno. The settlement has medieval origins and developed as a local market town. The town is best known for its long-standing ceramics industry; for many years, tile, pottery and porcelain production has been a major part of the local economy. The Opoczno name is associated with a widely distributed line of ceramic products, and the industry remains a significant employer in the area.
