Ontelolaattajärjestelmän, often translated as hollow-core slab system or voided slab system, refers to a type of structural element used in building construction. These slabs are characterized by the presence of voids or hollow cores running through their depth. These voids are typically created using permanent formwork or by pre-casting the slabs with integrated void tubes. The primary purpose of these voids is to reduce the overall weight of the concrete slab.
