Omomdat

Omomdat is not a standard Dutch word. In standard Dutch the causal conjunction meaning “because” is omdat (one word). The concatenated form omomdat is usually seen as a typographical error, a nonce form, or a stylized/brand name. It is not recognized as a separate lexical item in authoritative Dutch dictionaries.

The
usual
punctuation
depends
on
sentence
order:
if
the
main
clause
precedes
the
reason
clause,
you
typically
omit
the
comma

the
reason
clause
comes
first,
you
place
a
comma
(Omdat
het
regende,
bleef
ik
thuis).

from
want
in
that
omdat
imposes
a
different
word
order
and
is
more
formal;
want
is
a
coordinating
conjunction
that
can
often
replace
omdat
but
without
requiring
a
clause
inversion.
Because
of
its
clarity
and
formality,
omdat
is
frequently
preferred
in
careful
or
written
argumentation.
