Okaloosa
Okaloosa refers to Okaloosa County, a county in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Florida along the Gulf of Mexico. It is part of the Pensacola-Fort Walton Beach-Crestview metropolitan area and is known for its Emerald Coast beaches, military installations, and coastal communities. The county seat is Crestview, and other major communities include Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Niceville, Valparaiso, and Shalimar. The southern coast fronts the Gulf of Mexico and includes barrier beaches such as Okaloosa Island and portions of Santa Rosa Island.
