OP Ryhmä, known in English as OP Financial Group, is Finland’s largest financial services group. It is a cooperative-owned federation of member savings banks that operate under the OP brand. The group provides banking, non-life and life insurance, asset management, and related financial services to private individuals, small and large businesses, and public-sector customers.

Ownership and governance: The group is owned by its member cooperative banks and, ultimately, by their customers. The central organization, OP Osuuskunta, coordinates strategy, information technology, and risk management for the group. Member banks elect representatives to the governing bodies that oversee operations and strategy.

Operations and services: Through its OP-branded banks and subsidiaries, the group offers everyday banking, mortgages, cards, payments, and credit; insurance products via OP Insurance and related entities; investment services, asset management, and pension products; and digital services, including online banking and the OP Mobile app.

History and scope: The OP group traces its roots to the cooperative savings banks established in Finland during the 20th century. It expanded through mergers and rebranding into a diversified financial services group serving a broad customer base across Finland.

Regulation and footprint: The group is supervised by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA) and adheres to Finnish and EU financial regulations. It operates primarily in Finland and maintains a strong market position in retail and SME banking, with a focus on customer ownership and local service networks.
