OAGIS

OAGIS stands for the Open Applications Group Integration Specification. It is a set of standard business documents and an architecture for integrating business applications. The goal of OAGIS is to simplify and standardize the way different software systems communicate and exchange data, particularly within enterprise environments.

The specification defines a common data model that represents common business concepts such as orders, invoices, shipments, and payments. This standardized model allows applications that adhere to OAGIS to exchange information without the need for custom mapping or translation layers for each integration. OAGIS uses an XML-based format for its business documents, making them human-readable and machine-parseable.

OAGIS is developed and maintained by the Open Applications Group, Inc. (OAGi), a vendor-neutral consortium. The specification is designed to be flexible and extensible, accommodating a wide range of business processes and industries. By adopting OAGIS, organizations can reduce the complexity and cost of integrating disparate software systems, improve data consistency, and accelerate the deployment of new business solutions. It aims to provide a common language for B2B (business-to-business) and A2A (application-to-application) integration.
