Närviärritus, also known as nerve irritation or neuritis, refers to a condition characterized by inflammation or damage to a nerve or nerves. This irritation can cause a variety of symptoms, primarily pain, but also numbness, tingling, weakness, or altered sensation in the area supplied by the affected nerve. The causes of närviärritus are diverse and can include physical trauma such as direct injury, compression from surrounding tissues (like in carpal tunnel syndrome), or repetitive strain.
