Nyílásméret, often translated as aperture size, refers to the opening within a lens that controls the amount of light passing through to the sensor or film. It is a crucial element in photography and optics, directly influencing exposure and depth of field.

The size of the aperture is typically measured using the f-number, also known as the f-stop. A lower f-number (e.g., f/1.8, f/2.8) indicates a wider aperture, allowing more light to enter. Conversely, a higher f-number (e.g., f/11, f/16, f/22) signifies a narrower aperture, restricting the amount of light.
