Nummi
Nummi is a locality and former municipality in Finland, located in the Uusimaa region in southern Finland. The municipality existed as an independent entity until 1 January 2009, when it merged with the neighboring municipality of Pusula to form the new municipality of Nummi-Pusula. Nummi-Pusula itself was later consolidated into the city of Lohja on 1 January 2013, and the area is now part of Lohja. The name Nummi is derived from the Finnish word nummi, meaning meadow or pasture, a reflection of the area's rural character. The landscape is typical of southern Finland, with forests, agricultural land, and numerous small lakes and villages. The local economy historically centered on agriculture and small-scale industry, with services supporting nearby populations. Today the area is administered as part of Lohja and remains characterized by a rural-urban mix and local community life. See also Nummi-Pusula.
