NovohradVolynsky

Novohrad-Volynsky, formerly known as Novohrad-Volynskyi, is a city in Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukraine. It is located in the northwestern part of the oblast, on the Teteriv River. The city is an administrative center of the Novohrad-Volynskyi Raion.

The history of Novohrad-Volynsky dates back to the 13th century when it was founded as Novohrad. It was part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and later the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. In the 18th century, it became part of the Russian Empire. During this period, the city was known as Novohrad-Volynsky. In the 20th century, it was part of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.

Novohrad-Volynsky has a rich cultural heritage. It is the birthplace of the prominent Ukrainian writer Lesya Ukrainka. The Lesya Ukrainka Museum is a popular tourist attraction. The city also boasts several historical churches and architectural landmarks.

The economy of Novohrad-Volynsky is primarily based on agriculture and industry. Food processing, machine building, and light industry are the main sectors. The city is a transportation hub, with a railway station and a network of roads connecting it to other parts of Ukraine.
