Noto

Noto is a town and comune in southeastern Sicily, Italy, located in the Val di Noto region in the province of Syracuse. It is renowned for its Baroque architecture rebuilt after the 1693 earthquake that devastated much of the area, giving Noto and nearby towns a distinctive Late Baroque character. The historic center includes landmarks such as the Cathedral of San Nicolò and the 18th‑century Palazzo Nicolaci, and the town is part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto, recognized for its cohesive urban design and artistic heritage. Noto remains a popular tourist destination, hosting festivals such as flower‑parade processions and the Infiorata di Noto that draw visitors to its ornate facades and stone streets.
