Nonrotary
Nonrotary refers to anything that does not involve rotation or spinning. This term is often used in contrast to rotary motion, which describes movement around a central axis. For example, a nonrotary engine is one that does not have a crankshaft that rotates. Instead, it might use a reciprocating or linear motion to generate power. Similarly, a nonrotary valve is a type of valve that does not turn to open or close.
In mathematics, a nonrotary transformation is a transformation that does not include rotation as a component.
