Nhalian

Nhalian is a coastal nation located on the southwestern edge of the continent of Zyrance. Its capital city, Lorhax, sits on a long, sandy peninsula that faces the North Sea. The country’s official language is Nhalian, a tongue of the Isoi linguistic family, and its flag features two horizontal bands of turquoise and grey with a stylized wave in the center.

The earliest known settlements in the Nhalian region date back to the Bronze Age, around 1200 BCE, when archaeological excavations uncovered pottery shards and small bronze tools. The kingdom rose to prominence in the 14th century CE when the Lawang dynasty consolidated power across coastal trade routes. During this period, Nhalian ships began to patrol the North Sea, establishing trade links with neighboring states such as Keltoria and the Austrian Empire.

Nhalian society places a strong emphasis on maritime skills, folklore, and communal festivals. The most important of these is the Festival of the Tide, which occurs annually in late summer and celebrates the sea’s bounty with music, dance, and a grand procession of boats. Their cuisine is heavily based on fish and seaweed, and the national dish, "Hulda Fish Stew," is considered a staple of household meals.

In modern times, Nhalian has established itself as a quiet but evolving economic partner within the region, focusing on sustainable fishing, renewable energy, and tourism. The government remains a constitutional monarchy, and the current monarch is Queen Isabella VII, who has reigned since 2020.
