Nevváltoztatási refers to the legal process of changing one's name in Hungary. This procedure is governed by Hungarian law and typically involves submitting an application to the relevant administrative authority. The primary reasons for seeking a name change can include personal preference, marriage, divorce, or to adopt a name that is more in line with one's identity.

To initiate a name change, an individual must generally be a Hungarian citizen or a recognized resident in Hungary. The application usually requires supporting documents, which may include a birth certificate, identity card, and proof of the reason for the name change. In cases of marriage or divorce, official certificates are usually necessary. For personal preference, a clear justification for the desired change is often expected.

The administrative authority will review the application and supporting documents.
