Neutroniflux

Neutroniflux refers to the intense flow of particles from nuclear reactions, particularly those involving neutron interactions. This phenomenon typically occurs in high-energy astrophysical environments, such as neutron stars and supernovae explosions. In these regions, extremely high densities of neutrons are present, resulting in the emission of a charged particle flux composed mostly of protons, electrons, and alpha particles.

The term neutroniflux is derived from the Latin words 'neutron,' referring to the subatomic particles, and 'flux,' indicating a continuous flow of particles. Neutroniflux can be understood as a result of the disintegration of atomic nuclei, where free neutrons and other particles are created through gamma-ray emission and subsequent interactions with surrounding material.

Fundamental characteristics of neutroniflux include its dependence on the atomic mass of the target material, as well as the temperature of the reaction environment. High-energy neutroniflux can occur through n + n → n + p + p reactions and subsequent fragmentations, as basic processes during a high-energy proton-proton interaction. It also plays a crucial role in shaping the compositions of terrestrial and extraterrestrial materials by generating charged particle trajectories through the photoelectric effect, Compton scattering, and knock-on processes following the triggering of the primary nuclear interactions.

The injection of these particles, assimilated as a collective influence flowing from abundant neutron populations, constitutes a detachment that symmetrically truncates the isotopic peaks toward the nuclear-to-stellar splits, producing gains in power to bulk determinations.
