Nestekiertojäähdyttimet

Nestekiertojäähdyttimet, also known as liquid cooling systems, are a method of dissipating heat from electronic components. Unlike traditional air cooling, which relies on airflow to carry heat away, liquid cooling uses a liquid coolant to absorb and transfer heat more efficiently.

The basic principle involves a closed loop system. A pump circulates a coolant, typically a mixture of water and additives to prevent corrosion and algae growth, through the system. The coolant flows to a heat sink mounted on the component that needs cooling, such as a CPU or GPU. The heat sink absorbs heat from the component, and the coolant then carries this heated liquid away.

The heated coolant then travels to a radiator, which is a component with many fins. A fan blows air across the radiator's fins, transferring the heat from the coolant to the surrounding air. Once cooled, the liquid is pumped back to the heat sink to repeat the cycle.

Liquid cooling systems offer several advantages, including quieter operation due to fans spinning at lower speeds and the potential for higher performance by maintaining lower component temperatures. This can lead to better overclocking potential and a longer lifespan for sensitive electronics. However, they are generally more complex and expensive than air cooling solutions. Maintenance may also be required, such as checking coolant levels and replacing components over time.
