Navaratnas
The Navaratnas, meaning "nine jewels" in Sanskrit, refers to a group of nine exceptionally talented individuals in a particular field. This concept is most famously associated with the court of Maharaja Krishnadevaraya of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 16th century. These nine literary luminaries were renowned for their mastery of Telugu literature and poetry. The specific members of this group, though sometimes subject to scholarly debate, typically include Allasani Peddana, Nandi Thimmana, Tennali Ramakrishna, Pingali Surana, Dhurjati, Konda Madhava Reddy, Ayyalaraju Ramabhadra Kavi, Madhava Kavi, and Bhattu Murti. They were all highly esteemed poets and scholars who contributed significantly to the golden age of Telugu literature.
Beyond literature, the term "Navaratnas" can also be applied to groups of nine esteemed individuals in other
