Narsalar

Narsalar is a historic port city on the eastern coast of the fictional continent of Valenor. It serves as the commercial and administrative center of the Narsari Delta and the regional capital.

Founded in the late 9th century by seafaring guilds seeking a secure harbor, Narsalar grew as a gateway between inland markets and maritime routes.

The city sits on a crescent bay with a natural harbor shielded by offshore reefs. The Old Quarter occupies the hills above the harbor, while the Great Market forms a ring along the quays.

Narsalar's economy centers on trade, shipbuilding, and finance. Its port handles timber, spices, and textiles; it hosts the Grand Exchange and a council-backed lending house.

The city is run by a Council of Seven and a Magistrate called the Prefect. Notable structures include the Silver Gate, the Lumen Library, and the Tide Forum. The Tide Festival celebrates safe voyages and harvest. Narsalar is known for bronzework and ropeworks.

Historically pivotal in regional trade politics, today it remains a key node in interregional commerce and maritime research. Notable residents have included influential merchants and scholars who helped shape the city’s institutions and networks.
