Nanomõõtmelised

Nanomõõtmelised refers to phenomena, materials, or structures that exist at the nanoscale. The nanometer scale is defined as 1 to 100 nanometers. One nanometer is one billionth of a meter. To put this into perspective, a human hair is about 80,000 to 100,000 nanometers wide.

At this incredibly small scale, materials often exhibit unique physical, chemical, and biological properties that are distinct from their bulk counterparts. This is due to quantum mechanical effects and a significantly increased surface area to volume ratio. For example, a material that is opaque in its bulk form might become transparent at the nanoscale. Similarly, its electrical conductivity or reactivity can change dramatically.
