Nachrückungen
Nachrückungen refers to the process by which individuals are selected to fill positions or receive benefits that were not initially filled. This concept is most commonly encountered in electoral systems and waiting lists. In elections, if a candidate who has been elected withdraws, becomes ineligible, or is otherwise unable to take their seat, the next person on the party's list or the candidate with the next highest number of votes (depending on the electoral system) is then "Nachgerückt" or "Nachrückung" into the vacant position. This ensures that the electoral outcome is fully realized and that representation is maintained.
