NCUSIF
The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, commonly known as NCUSIF, is a United States federal agency that insures deposits at federally insured credit unions. It was established by the Federal Credit Union Act in 1970 and is administered by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The NCUSIF is the primary source of deposit insurance for credit union members, providing protection for accounts up to at least $250,000 per member, per insured credit union, for each account ownership category.
