NATOstruktuuride
NATOstruktuuride refers to the organizational structures of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). These structures are designed to facilitate political consultation, military cooperation, and decision-making among member states. At the highest level, the North Atlantic Council (NAC) serves as the principal political decision-making body, with all member states represented. The Secretary General of NATO chairs the NAC and provides leadership. Supporting the NAC are various committees and working groups that address specific policy areas, such as defense planning, economic affairs, and arms control. Militarily, NATO has a command structure responsible for planning and conducting operations. This structure includes a hierarchy of commands, such as the Allied Command Operations (ACO) and Allied Command Transformation (ACT), each with specific responsibilities. The Permanent Representatives of member states form the NAC, and their deputies meet regularly. Numerous expert groups and committees work under the NAC to prepare decisions and advise on specific issues. The military command structure is organized to ensure that forces can be deployed and operated effectively in various scenarios, reflecting the alliance's commitment to collective defense. These interconnected structures enable NATO to function as a coherent political and military alliance.
