Névutakkal

Névutakkal is a Hungarian term referring to postpositions. Unlike prepositions which precede the noun or pronoun they modify, postpositions follow them. This is a common feature in agglutinative languages like Hungarian, where grammatical functions are often indicated by suffixes or separate words attached to the end of a word.

In Hungarian, postpositions are often formed from nouns or verbs that have taken on a prepositional function over time. They work in conjunction with case endings on the noun or pronoun. For example, the postposition "után" (after) is used with the genitive case. So, "az autó után" translates to "after the car." Similarly, "nélkül" (without) is used with the ablative case, as in "barát nélkül" (without a friend).
