Myosiinipään

Myosiinipään is a Finnish term that translates to "myosin head" in English. Myosin is a crucial motor protein found in eukaryotic cells, playing a vital role in muscle contraction, cell motility, and intracellular transport. The myosin head is the globular part of the myosin molecule that binds to actin filaments and hydrolyzes ATP, generating the force for movement.

There are several classes of myosin, each with specialized functions. However, the fundamental mechanism involves the conformational changes in the myosin head driven by ATP binding and hydrolysis.
