Myntsett
Myntsett is a traditional Scandinavian dish, originating from Norway, that is particularly popular during the Christmas season. The dish consists of a mixture of dried fruits, typically including raisins, currants, and sometimes dried apples or pears, which are soaked in a mixture of brandy, sugar, and spices such as cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. The soaked fruits are then spread out on a baking sheet and baked until they form a crispy, caramelized layer on the bottom. The dish is often served as a dessert or a snack, and its rich, sweet flavor is a beloved part of the holiday tradition in many Scandinavian countries. Myntsett is also known by other names in different regions, such as "mynta" in Sweden and "mynta" or "myntesuppe" in Denmark.
