This encompasses a wide range of metamorphoses, from physical shifts in appearance to changes in essence or state. Such transformations are not limited to supernatural creatures like witches or shapeshifters, but can also extend to natural phenomena or even abstract concepts.

In many traditional narratives, alterity is a key element of Muutumisvõimalused. A character might transform into an animal, such as a wolf or a bird, to achieve a specific goal, escape danger, or observe unseen. These transformations can be voluntary, driven by a character's will, or involuntary, occurring as a result of a curse, enchantment, or a natural cycle.
