Munkafüggvénye

Munkafüggvénye is a Hungarian term that translates to "work function" in English, particularly in the context of physics and chemistry. It represents the minimum energy required to remove an electron from the surface of a solid material to a point in the vacuum immediately outside the surface. This is a fundamental property of metals and other solids.

The work function is crucial in understanding various phenomena such as thermionic emission, photoelectric effect, and the behavior of semiconductors. It is influenced by the type of material, its surface condition, and temperature. Different materials have distinct work functions, which is why certain metals are used in specific electronic applications.
