Moviment

Moviment is a noun used in Catalan and in related Romance languages to denote movement, motion, or a campaign. In Catalan, it covers physical motion, such as the movement of objects or machines, as well as figurative uses like social or political campaigns (for example, a citizens’ movement). The word derives from Latin motus and is cognate with similar forms in other languages, such as mouvement in French and movimento in Italian; Portuguese uses movimento, not moviment.

In physics and everyday speech, it describes the state or act of changing position over time, including phrases like circular movement or rectilinear movement in Catalan texts.
