Moraalisten, or moralists, is a term used for authors and thinkers who focus on moral reflection, virtue and social conduct. In Dutch usage, moraalisten denotes writers who produced essays, maxims, dialogues and treatises that inquire into what constitutes good conduct, how character is formed, and how public life should be ordered.
