Monthien

Monthien is a small district located in the northeastern region of Thailand, within the province of Udon Thani. It is situated along the banks of the Mekong River, near the border with Laos, and is part of the larger region known as Isan. The district covers an area of approximately 275 square kilometers and has a population of around 40,000 people, primarily engaged in agriculture, particularly rice farming.
