Mogyorót

Mogyorót is the Hungarian word for peanut. Peanuts are legumes botanically, though they are commonly referred to as nuts due to their culinary uses. They are native to South America and are now cultivated worldwide in tropical and subtropical regions.

Ground peanuts are an ingredient in some savory dishes, adding flavor and texture. Peanut oil, extracted from peanuts, is widely used for cooking and as a salad dressing ingredient. Hungary, like many other countries, imports a substantial amount of peanuts and peanut products due to its own cultivation being limited.
