Modelljelemek

Modelljelemek is a term referring to model elements, the fundamental constructs used to describe a system in modeling practice. Spelling varies by language; for example modellielemendid in Estonian or Modellelemente in German. The term denotes the building blocks of a model.

A model element represents a distinct concept within the domain and is defined by its type, name, and properties. Elements are organized and related to reflect structure, behavior, and constraints of the modeled system.

Typical categories include structural elements (classes, entities, components), behavioral elements (activities, events, states), data elements (attributes, keys), and rules or constraints (invariants, cardinalities). Interfaces and dependencies may also be treated as model elements.

Model elements are created in modeling languages and tools to enable abstraction, analysis, simulation, and communication. They support modularity, reuse, versioning, and traceability from requirements through design to implementation.

Examples: UML uses classes and interfaces as model elements; ER diagrams use entities and attributes; SysML uses blocks, activities, and requirements.

Terminology varies by field and language, but the underlying idea is consistent: model elements are the atomic units used to build, analyze, and share models.
