Mikrocentrifugi

Mikrocentrifugi are small, tabletop centrifuges commonly used in laboratories for separating substances of different densities in a liquid sample. They are designed to spin samples at high speeds, creating centrifugal force that pushes denser components to the bottom of a tube and lighter components to the top. This process is essential for a variety of biological and chemical analyses, including DNA and RNA extraction, protein purification, and cell pelleting.

The compact size of a mikrocentrifuge makes it ideal for use in limited laboratory space. They typically accommodate small tubes, such as microcentrifuge tubes (e.g., 1.5 mL or 2.0 mL), and operate at speeds that can range from a few thousand to over 15,000 revolutions per minute (RPM). Some models offer precise speed and time control, as well as temperature control to protect sensitive samples.

The principle of operation relies on the difference in mass between particles suspended in a liquid. When the rotor spins, the centrifugal force experienced by each particle is proportional to its mass. This effectively separates components based on their density, allowing for the isolation of specific cellular fractions, the clarification of solutions, or the concentration of precipitates.
