Midgards

Midgards is a term that may refer to Miðgarðr, the realm of humans in Norse mythology. The singular form Midgards is used in some spellings or translations as a possessive or plural variant; in standard English it is typically rendered Midgard. Etymology: from Old Norse Miðgarðr meaning "middle enclosure" or "middle yard"—the world situated between the realms of the Æsir and the giants and surrounded by the ocean.

Cosmology: Midgard is one of the nine worlds in Norse cosmology, located at the center of the cosmos and connected to Asgard by the rainbow bridge Bifröst. It is upheld by Yggdrasil, the world tree.
