Metallisahat

Metallisahat is a term that refers to a type of saw specifically designed for cutting metal. These saws differ from wood saws in their blade construction and tooth design. Metal-cutting saw blades are typically made from hardened steel, high-speed steel (HSS), or bimetal, which combines different types of steel to enhance durability and flexibility. The teeth on metal-cutting blades are generally smaller, sharper, and set at a finer pitch compared to wood saws. This finer pitch helps to effectively remove metal shavings without clogging the blade.

There are several common types of metallisahat. Handheld hacksaws are the most basic form, utilizing a thin blade held under tension in a frame. Power saws offer more efficient and faster metal cutting. These include reciprocating saws, which use a push-and-pull blade motion, and band saws, which employ a continuous loop blade. Abrasive chop saws use a high-speed rotating abrasive disc to cut through metal, while metal-cutting circular saws use toothed blades similar to those on wood circular saws but with specialized tooth geometry for metal. The choice of metallisahat depends on the type of metal being cut, the thickness of the material, and the desired precision and speed of the cut. Proper lubrication, often with cutting fluid, is crucial when using metallisahat to reduce heat, prevent blade damage, and achieve a cleaner cut.
