Metallikationit

Metallaktionit is a hypothetical mineral species invoked in theoretical discussions of metallic silicate systems. It is described as an iron- and aluminum-rich silicate with partial substitution by titanium, chromium, and vanadium, yielding a predominantly oxide-silicate framework. The name combines the root metal with the common mineral suffix -ite, reflecting its imagined metallic character.

In proposed models, metallaktionit is imagined to crystallize in a monoclinic (or occasionally orthorhombic) system and to occur as microcrystalline masses or tabular crystals within metamorphic or hydrothermal ore environments. Its described solid-solution series would relate it to ferrisilicates and aluminous oxides, with cation ordering on octahedral sites and various framework substitutions.

As of now, metallaktionit has not been verified in natural samples, and there are no confirmed measurements from authentic specimens. It remains a pedagogical construct used to illustrate concepts such as solid solution, cation substitution, and high-temperature silicate stability in mineralogy texts and computer modelling studies. If observed, it would provide insight into how metallic cations can be accommodated in complex silicate lattices.
