Mestaruussarja
Mestaruussarja, meaning Championship Series, was the top-level football league in Finland from 1930 to 1989. It determined the Finnish national champions and formed the centerpiece of Finnish club football before the introduction of Veikkausliiga in 1990. The name and the historical records of Mestaruussarja are an integral part of Finland’s football heritage.
The competition was contested by Finnish clubs in a league format, typically played during the summer months.
