Meshverkosto, also known as a mesh network, is a type of network topology in which each node, or device, is connected to every other node. This creates a decentralized structure where data can travel along multiple paths. If one path is blocked or a node fails, the data can be rerouted through another. This redundancy makes mesh networks highly resilient and reliable.

There are two main types of mesh networks: full mesh and partial mesh. In a full mesh network, every node has a direct connection to every other node. This offers the highest level of redundancy but can be complex and expensive to implement due to the large number of connections required. A partial mesh network, on the other hand, only has some nodes directly connected to all other nodes, while others are connected to only a few. This offers a balance between redundancy and cost.

Mesh networks are beneficial for their robustness. The absence of a single point of failure means that the network can continue to function even if several nodes or connections are lost. They are also highly scalable, as new nodes can be added without disrupting the existing network. This self-healing and self-configuring nature makes them suitable for various applications, including wireless local area networks (WLANs), mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), and Internet of Things (IoT) deployments. Their ability to extend network coverage and provide alternative communication routes is a key advantage.
