Meltaguns

Meltaguns are a type of heavy projectile weapon commonly depicted in science fiction settings, particularly within the Warhammer 40,000 universe. They function by projecting a concentrated beam of superheated plasma or molten metal, capable of melting through solid armor and fortifications. This destructive capability makes them highly effective against heavily armored targets.

The design of a meltagun typically involves a large barrel and a power source, often a bulky backpack or internal generator, to sustain the immense energy required for its operation. The weapon generates a localized, intensely hot stream that is directed at the target. While devastating at close to medium ranges, meltaguns can be less effective at longer distances due to the rapid dissipation of the thermal energy.
