Megfoghatóság

Megfoghatóság is a Hungarian term that translates to tangibility or graspability in English. It refers to the quality of being able to be perceived through the senses, particularly touch, or of being conceptually understood or grasped. The term is often used in philosophical and theoretical contexts to distinguish between concepts or entities that have a physical presence and those that are abstract or intangible.

In a practical sense, something megfogható is concrete and real, capable of being interacted with physically. For example, a chair is megfogható because it occupies space and can be touched. In contrast, an idea or a feeling is not megfogható in the same physical way. The concept can be understood, but it lacks a physical form.

The distinction between megfogható and its opposite, which might be translated as intangibility or abstractness, is crucial in various fields.
