Mbeya

Mbeya is a city in southwestern Tanzania and the capital of Mbeya Region. It is located at the base of the Mbeya Range in the Usangu highlands, at an elevation of about 1,600 to 1,800 meters, near Lake Nyasa to the west.

The city is a major transport and commercial hub for the region, linked by road and rail to the interior and neighboring countries. The Tanzania-Zambia Railway (TAZARA) passes through the area, and the road network connects Mbeya with Malawi and the southern regions. Mbeya hosts an airport that serves the city and surrounding areas.

The area benefits from a temperate climate due to its elevation, with a distinct rainy season and relatively mild temperatures year-round. Nearby natural features include the Mbeya Range and the Rungwe Mountains, with Kitulo National Park in the region as a nearby attraction.
