Mayfair

Mayfair is an affluent district in the West End of London, England, within the City of Westminster. It lies between Oxford Street to the north, Regent Street to the east, Piccadilly to the south, and Park Lane to the west. The area includes Grosvenor Square and Berkeley Square and contains a mix of late-Georgian terraces, modern offices, luxury hotels, boutiques, and restaurants.

The area was developed in the 17th and 18th centuries by the Grosvenor family after acquiring the manor of Ebury. The name Mayfair is commonly believed to derive from a May Fair once held nearby, though the exact origin is uncertain.

The district hosts art galleries, private clubs, and numerous offices, and contains several garden squares that provide green space in the urban environment.
