Matalapäästöt refers to emissions that are significantly reduced compared to conventional levels. This concept is central to environmental policies aimed at mitigating climate change and improving air quality. It encompasses a broad range of strategies and technologies designed to minimize the release of harmful substances into the atmosphere.

Key areas where low-emission approaches are applied include transportation, energy production, and industrial processes.
