Mastodoniga
Mastodoniga is a genus of extinct proboscideans that lived during the Miocene epoch in Africa. These ancient relatives of modern elephants were characterized by their relatively small size compared to later proboscideans and by a unique set of teeth. The name "Mastodoniga" itself is derived from "mastodon," referring to the molar teeth which possess rounded, nipple-like cusps, and "-iga," a suffix often used in taxonomic classification.
Fossil evidence suggests that Mastodoniga species were likely herbivores, feeding on vegetation. Their exact ecological niche
