Malminmuodostus

Malminmuodostus refers to the geological processes by which mineral deposits, particularly those containing valuable metals, are formed within the Earth's crust. These processes are complex and involve a variety of physical and chemical mechanisms acting over vast timescales.

One of the primary mechanisms of malminmuodostus is magmatic activity. As molten rock (magma) rises from the Earth's mantle or lower crust, it can carry dissolved metals and other elements. As the magma cools and solidifies, these elements can concentrate into specific minerals, forming igneous ore deposits. Hydrothermal processes are also crucial. Metamorphic processes, involving the transformation of existing rocks under heat and pressure, can also rearrange and concentrate metallic elements, contributing to ore formation in some cases.
