Magnetmaterjale are substances that exhibit magnetic properties, meaning they can create magnetic fields and be influenced by them. These materials are broadly categorized into several types based on their response to an external magnetic field.

Ferromagnetic materials, such as iron, nickel, and cobalt, are strongly attracted to magnets and can be permanently magnetized themselves. This strong magnetic behavior arises from the alignment of their magnetic domains, which are microscopic regions where the magnetic moments of atoms are aligned.

Paramagnetic materials are weakly attracted to magnets. They do not retain their magnetism when the external field is removed. Examples include aluminum and platinum.

Diamagnetic materials are weakly repelled by magnets. This effect is present in all materials but is usually masked by stronger paramagnetic or ferromagnetic properties. Examples include copper and water.

Ferrimagnetic materials, like ferrites, have a magnetic structure similar to ferromagnetism but with opposing magnetic moments that do not completely cancel out, resulting in a net magnetic field.
