Magmaalueita
Magmaalueita, also known as magma provinces or Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs), are vast extents of the Earth's crust and mantle that have been intruded or extruded by enormous volumes of magma. These events are typically short-lived on geological timescales, often occurring over a few million years or less. Magmaalueita are characterized by their immense scale, covering areas that can range from hundreds of thousands to tens of millions of square kilometers, and their significant thickness, sometimes exceeding several kilometers.
The formation of magmaalueita is thought to be driven by exceptionally large mantle plumes, which are upwellings
Magmaalueita have played a crucial role in Earth's geological history. Their eruption can release massive amounts
