MDMX
MDMX, also known as Murine Double Minutes X, is a protein encoded by the MDMX gene. It plays a role in the regulation of cell growth and apoptosis, acting as a crucial component of the p53 tumor suppressor pathway. MDMX is structurally similar to the tumor suppressor protein p53 but lacks the transcriptional transactivation domain. Instead, it functions as an inhibitor of p53 by binding to it and preventing it from activating its target genes. This interaction can lead to the stabilization of MDMX itself.
