Mélyszöveti

Mélyszöveti is a Hungarian adjective meaning “of or relating to deep tissue.” In medical language it describes structures that lie in the deeper layers of body tissue, beyond the superficial layers such as the epidermis or subcutaneous tissue. It is used to distinguish deep tissues from superficial ones (felületes). The term is formed from the roots mély (deep) and szövet (tissue) with the adjectival suffix -i.

In anatomy and pathology, mélyszöveti refers to deep-seated structures such as deep muscles, deep fascia, and internal organs, or tissues located away from the surface. It appears in clinical notes, radiology reports, and educational texts to indicate depth of involvement or location relative to surface structures.

In therapeutic contexts, mélyszöveti masszázs, or deep tissue massage, is a modality aimed at the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to alleviate chronic tension and adhesions. The technique uses slower movements and firmer pressure than superficial massage. It should be performed by trained professionals, and is not recommended for acute injuries, inflammation, or certain medical conditions without professional assessment.

The term can modify other nouns to describe deep tissue properties, for example mélyszöveti gyulladás (deep tissue inflammation) or mélyszöveti károsodás, depending on context.
