Lóbulos

Lóbulos is a term used in anatomy and biology to refer to a small, rounded division or part of an organ or structure. The concept of a lobule is present in various biological systems, often indicating a functional or structural subdivision.

In the context of the liver, hepatic lobules are the microscopic structural units. These are hexagonal in shape and are organized around a central vein. The lobules contain hepatocytes, which are liver cells responsible for many metabolic functions. Blood flows from portal triads at the periphery of the lobule towards the central vein.

In the lungs, pulmonary lobules, specifically the secondary lobules, are also described as functional units. These are roughly pyramidal structures containing several alveoli, where gas exchange occurs.

The mammary glands are also organized into lobules. These lobules are clusters of alveoli that produce milk. During lactation, these lobules become more prominent and active.

The term lobule can also be applied to other organs and tissues, such as the lobules of the pancreas, which produce digestive enzymes, and the lobules of the thyroid gland, which are the functional units responsible for hormone production. The specific arrangement and function of lobules vary depending on the organ in question, but they generally represent a fundamental building block for more complex structures.
